Remember when you first started getting your kids on skis? Remember the back breaking effort of bending over and holding them between your legs? Or the harness you used because they were straight lining and not turning? The cringing and the nerve racking feeling when they exploded on the hill with their gear everywhere? The lugging of their gear to and from the magic carpet? The pocket treats to get them to do just a few more turns to get to the bottom of the hill?
What about all the waiting?
Waiting for the youngest to catch up? Waiting so that they get themselves back up from a fall? Waiting next to the hard pack roller coaster tree runs, because you’ve done more than your share of them, and they do a number on your hips? Waiting for them to try the jumps on the side of the groomers? Waiting for them to catch up on the flat sections?
Well, let me tell you something…the tables will turn.
So, enjoy your waiting time, because soon enough, the groms grow up to be slayers, and then they’re the ones doing the waiting. I’m still trying to catch my breath! And my legs? They’re burning just thinking about it!
