Sometimes it’s a big dump.
Sometimes it’s Family Day Weekend.
And sometimes it’s the weekend warriors that bring on the long lineups at the ski hill.
Lift lines are just a part of resort skiing, and even though they can be frustrating, it’s really fun to watch kids wait for their turn to get swooped up by the chair. For one, they make good buddies at the hill. It doesn’t matter the skill level, they’re all headed in the same direction…and that’s up, just to come back down. They chat about their secret stashes, they talk the ski lingo, they give up their favourite bumps and jumps, and sometimes they just chat about what they did in school that week. It is the easiest place to have kids away from devices/screens and practice the art of conversation. They’re usually having so much fun, that most of the time, they don’t even realize they’ve been waiting all that long. At the end of the day, when they pass their gear to their moms and dads to load up the roof box, their cheeks are rosy, and they just spent an entire day outside…without negotiating screen time.
And though the lift lines can be frustrating, it sure is awesome to see so many people outside having a good time.
